Village Writers' Club

Hot Springs Village, Arkansas

Who We Are

We are a gathering of writers from Hot Springs Village and surrounding areas who come together to encourage, nourish, and support one another as we strive to reach our individual writing goals.

Our various levels of experience and expertise, from the novice writer to the published author, help to enrich the quality of our club’s interaction and successes. All genres from poetry to fiction to nonfiction to play and screen writing, to lyrics are part of our club’s accumulated repertoire.

VWC MISSION STATEMENT: The Village Writers' Club provides a forum to:

  1. Exchange writing-related experiences, skills, and concerns
  2. Motivate original production of writing by its members
  3. Improve writing skills of its members
  4. Assist members in marketing their works

Where We Meet

Except for our summer hiatus in July and August, the Village Writers’ Club meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Coronado Center from 1-3 PM. Each meeting begins with a read-around and a brief business meeting followed by an educational program.  A small $3 fee is levied to pay for meeting expenses.

In lieu of a regular May meeting, we invite the public to attend our L'Audible Art festivities where we showcase our work. The celebration is scheduled on a Monday from 2-4 PM tentatively at the Coronado Center.

Occasionally we have social dinner meetings in December and June where we invite our spouses and friends.

Critique group meets the 3rd Thursday at 2 PM at the Chamber of Commerce. For more about Critique groups.

Visitors are always welcome. If you’d like to join us, please email President Kloack

Membership Requirements/Application Form

No GRE or SAT exams are required for obtaining membership in the Village Writers’ Club. Neither do you have to submit a sample of your writing or take grammar or written tests. Instead, the only requirement is that you pay an annual membership fee and show up.  How easy is that!
